Erika Recordon, AMFT
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist #160859
Under the Supervision of Dr. Aimee Martinez PSY 28937
“Our lives are shaped by the invisible forces inside us. Early developmental experiences leave their mark on our hearts and minds without our full awareness. As we grow, we bring these unresolved stories into our present. There’s a saying in the psychoanalytic community that whatever is not processed, often gets enacted. This phenomenon is one of the ways in which I might try to understand those repetitive patterns you keep finding yourself in, though they no longer serve you. My goal is to provide you with a place where you feel deeply heard and supported. We’ll work to develop your understanding of yourself, your history, and how you’ve come to think and feel the way you do. Through this process of curious exploration, we’ll expand your sense of self and bring more ease to your life and relationships.
I work with adults and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, with a particular focus on creative professionals, life transitions (including parenthood and infertility) and grief, illness, and loss.”
I hold two graduate degrees, an MA in Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles and an MFA in the literary arts from Brooklyn College. In addition to my formal education, I received two years of specialized psychoanalytic training at the esteemed Wright Institute Los Angeles.
I am proud to introduce Erika Recordon to Dr. Aimee Martinez and Associates. Erika is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist seeing clients in Los Angeles and West Hollywood, under my supervision. Through her depth of experience, she brings both clinical rigor and a literary sensibility to her work, conceptualizing through a psychoanalytic framework, with particular care for creative professionals and those navigating life transitions including parenthood and infertility, as well as grief, illness, and loss.
