In Dr. Choi’s own words: “Choosing to embark on the therapeutic journey is a profound act of courage—an invitation to navigate the intricate, yet deeply rewarding, path of self-discovery. I hold immense respect for every client who steps into my practice, fully aware of the profound trust they place in me by sharing their stories. I believe in cultivating a safe, open environment where you can explore your innermost thoughts and feelings, knowing that no subject is off-limits. My approach is rooted in the understanding that each person carries a unique constellation of experiences and intersecting identities, shaping their way of being in the world. Together, through the therapeutic relationship, we will delve into the depths of who you are, unraveling the layers of your past and present to foster a compassionate and authentic understanding of yourself.

My own life has taught me that the deepest pains often transform into the greatest sources of strength. It is this inner vitality that fuels my passion for therapy and anchors me in my work. I believe wholeheartedly in the possibility of growth and transformation at any stage of life; it is never too late to connect with your truest self.”

I am proud to introduce Dr. Choi to Dr. Aimee Martinez and Associates. She  brings extensive experience in working with a diverse range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, identity development, complex family dynamics, and self-esteem challenges. She practices from a psychoanalytic and psychodynamic framework, recognizing that healing often arises when we bring unconscious material and past experiences into conscious awareness, allowing them to be thoughtfully examined and understood. Dr. Choi holds a particular interest in supporting those in creative fields, college students, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals navigating the complexities of immigration or the experience of being a child of immigrants.

Dr. Choi is accepting new patients and couples on a sliding scale and can be contacted HERE to schedule a 10-15 minute complimentary phone or zoom consultation.
