Sarah Corner, AMFT #119647

Under the Supervision of Dr. Aimee Martinez

“Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.” – Pema Cödrön

Sarah is passionate about working with teens and the complexities associated with adolescence. She recognizes the unique struggles of teens and their families. Keeping this in mind, she works collaboratively with her patients and their parents while providing a safe and private space for an adolescent’s self-exploration. Sarah approaches her work through a psychodynamic lens while utilizing mindfulness techniques in her approach to therapy. She finds meaning in understanding how the past influences the present while also paying close attention to the current struggles of her patients.

In addition to teens, Sarah finds particular interest in working with individuals of all ages who struggle with various challenges, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, family relationships, complex trauma, and relationship difficulties.

Sarah is highly skilled in supporting her patients in exploring their experiences in a judgment-free and trusting environment. It is through this collaborative space that Sarah believes meaningful change and healing occurs.

Thanks to her Master’s degree education in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC), Sarah developed a firm foundation in her clinical work while also working in a school setting where she provided therapy to children and teens. It was here that Sarah gained experience and was able to integrate her passion for advocating for children and their families within the intricacies of a school system.

Recently, Sarah completed two years of training at the Wright Institute Los Angles (WILA), receiving a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. In addition to her clinical and theoretical development at WILA, Sarah played a crucial role in creating marketing and social media campaigns to support various WILA initiatives. Her creativity can be seen here in collaboration with other trainees of WILA’s TIPD program.
